 DANCE PARTY

Room 18's Dance Party was a huge success. The children had a lot of fun dancing up a storm and topping the year off with a wonderful party. Well done to Tessa, Charlotte, Kobe and Daniel who were all recognised by Humphreys Dance and the teachers for their effort and skill. Each received a gold medal. Congratulations also to Aadidev who received the Book Award and to Oliver who received the Values Certificate.

 MATH-MAGICIANS

We love doing extensions and challenging work in Room 18 and recently Miss Daquino set some extension work that proved to be just that, a challenge. These students set about logically working their way through the sum and managed to solve it using a variety of methods. Miss Daquino was really impressed with the application of their mathematical skills and their perseverance to get through the challenge. Well done to you all.

 FISHY BUSINESS

Tessa and Neve were hard at work today ensuring that our class pets, Midnight and Spongebob have a nice clean tank to call home. The students are loving having the fish in class and they enjoy taking turns to be the responsible fish feeders of the week. Kobe is one of the fish feeders this week so he gets to work at the desk, on the teacher's chair.

DREAMTIME STORIES

Room 18 are currently working on their very own story of a moral, inspired by a Dreamtime Story read to them this week. Sarah and Lucy were off to a great start. Here is the beginning of their work. We can't wait to see the finished product.

 POETRY AWARD WINNER

A huge congratulations to Nelia who won the City of Kalamunda Creative Writing and Digital Art Competition Under 18 Poetry Category Award. Nelia entered her poem "The Enlightening" which was inspired by learning about Helen Keller. The theme was "The Change" and Nelia instantly thought about the change that was made when Helen Keller began to learn sign language from the first moment when water gushed over her hand. Her poem will be published in a community anthology and distributed across the City of Kalamunda. Well done, Nelia. What a tremendous achievement!

AWARDS

Congratulations to all of the children who received an award at the recent school assembly. It is wonderful to see you all working so hard and caring for others. Keep up the excellent effort.

A further congratulations to Aadidev who participated in the Numero Championships with the WGPS team.
